Consumer Alert InformationVarious fraudulent solicitations are being directed at consumers, with the Federal Reserve Board or Federal Reserve Banks being mentioned as a party to the "loan" or transaction. Among other things, these solicitations promise consumers access to large sums of money after the consumer sends personal information to a designated address. Consumers are then told that they can contact a Federal Reserve employee who will assist them in accessing the money. The Federal Reserve is advising consumers that it does not endorse these solicitations, nor does it have any involvement in them. The best protection is awareness. Visit our "Find an Answer" area for more information about spotting frauds or scams. |
